Her opera roles include Charlotte in Werther, Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier, Penelope and Minerva in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Diana in Cavalli’s La Calisto, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and Marguerite in Berlioz’ La Damnation de Faust. Mozart roles include Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Cecilio in Lucio Silla, the title role in Ascanio in Alba, Idamante in Idomeneo, Farnace in Mitridate, re di Ponto, and roles in operas and staged oratorios by Handel include the title role and Cornelia in Giulio Cesare, Bradamante in Alcina, Irene in Tamerlano, Nerone and Ottone in Agrippina, the title role in Oreste, Teseo in Arianna in Creta, Storgé in Jephtha, Medoro in Orlando, Gandarte in Poro,  Daniel in Belshazzar and Cleofe in La Resurrezione.

She is a much sought after concert singer and she regularly appears in concert halls and festivals throughout Europe and Asia. Her repertoire includes Berlioz’ Les nuits d’été, Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder, Rückertlieder, Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, Des Knaben Wunderhorn and Das Lied von der Erde, Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, Elgar’s Sea pictures, Bernstein’s Symphony No. 1 Jeremiah, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, as well as a large number of masses and oratorios.

Bach’s Heilig in Munich with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mozart’s Requiem in Seoul, Tokyo and Fukuoka with Orchestre des Champs-Elysées, Bach’s St Matthew Passion in Stockholm with Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble, Cantatas by Bach in Antwerp and Gent with Baroque Orchestra B’Rock, arias by Handel and Vivaldi with the Norwegian Baroque Soloists, arias from Handel’s Belshazzar and Theodora in Stockholm with Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble. Mozart’s Mass in C minor in Stockholm with the Swedish Radio Orchestra and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Stockholm with Helsinki Baroque Orchestra.

The season 2014/15 included Arsace in Rossini’s Semiramide at Opéra de Nice, Sabina in Veracini’s Adriano in Siria in Madrid and Valencia, Galatea in Handel’s Aci, Galatea e Polifemo in Bruges with Il Giardino Armonico, Handel’s Messiah in Oviedo with Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias as well as in Stavanger, Bach’s St Matthew Passion in Essen and Heerlen with Concerto Köln, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Stockholm with Helsinki Baroque Orchestra.

The season 2015/16 included Bradamante in Alcina at Grand Théâtre de Genève, Arbace in Handel’s Catone in Pisa as well as at the Handel Festival in Halle, concerts of Handel’s Ah! Che troppo ineguali and Ferrandini’s Il Pianto di Maria in Nice, Aix en Provence and Sylvacane, Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri in Utrecht, Mozart’s Requiem in Tokyo, Hyogo, Karuizawa and Miyazaki as well as in Stockholm, Handel’s Messiah in Stockholm as well as in Stavanger, a Gala Concert with arias by Rossini at Opéra de Rennes and.

The season 2017/18 has so far included Ismene in Gluck’s Alceste at the Ruhrtriennale and Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, Medea in Cavalli’s Il Giasone at Grand Théâtre de Genève and concerts of Bach’s Mass in B minor in Lund and Handel’s Messiah in Stockholm.

Kristina Hammarström has recorded a solo CD with arias by Vivaldi with Marcello Di Lisa, Medoro in Handel’s Orlando with René Jacobs, the title role in Giulio Cesare and Giulia in Handel’s Alessandro Severo with George Petrou, Idamante in Idomeneo, Farnace in Mitridate, re di Ponto and Cecilio in Lucio Silla with Adam Fischer, Bach’s Christmas oratorio with Jan Willem de Vriend, Mozart’s Requiem with Manfred Honeck, and Handel’s Messiah with Gustaf Sjökvist. DVD releases include Bradamante in Alcina with Marc Minkowski, Bradamante in Vivaldi’s Orlando furioso with Jean-Christophe Spinosi, and Daniel in Belshazzar with René Jacobs.
